Young drivers from 14 - 17 years old can race in the Ginetta Junior, Saxmax and new for 2011 Ford Fiesta Junior Championships. Links to these can be found below.
Ben Elliott is CRB checked and insured to teach drivers in this age range. Nearly 30 junior racers have started their training with Ben and have graduated to other series where they are very competitive.
Bens' experience has led to the training package recommended below. This method has a 100% pass rate for the ARDS test and allows junior racers to start their season competitively.
Recommended training package for Junior Racers:
1. Half day at RAF Alconbury. Drivers can get familiar with the car and push it to the limit in safety. Even experienced karters have a lot to learn on this day such as braking with their right root and getting used to the stopping power of a car.
Price for this is £549 and can be booked here
2. ARDS Test. With the experience gained on the airfield junior racers can then take their ARDS test. Recommended schools for this are Thruxton and Brands Hatch, customer feedback has been best for these venues. Please contact the venues direct to make a booking.
3. Training at each circuit before the race meeting. Here drivers can learn the tricks of each track at a much higher rate and their driving can be closely developed and monitored. As with all driver training by Ben Elliott the Racelogic Video vbox is used. You get a copy of video and data and training on how to use the data logging software.
Price for this can be found here
Anthony Whorton-Eales used this package in his first season of racing in 2009. In 2010 he is leading the SAXMAX Championship (at time of writing).
